Physiotherapy is the cornerstone of our practice at The Wellness Team. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional physiotherapy care with one focus: getting you better as fast as possible.
What is Physiotherapy and what does it do?
The Wellness Team offers a range of physiotherapy modalities including dry needling, massage, mobilsations, shockwave therapy, real-time ultrasound, and more. We also collaborate with other services such as clinical conditioning, remedial massage, exercise physiology and dietetics.
Injury Physiotherapy helps clients recover from injuries.
Tightness Physiotherapy can help alleviate any feelings of discomfort or tightness in your body.
Maintenance Physiotherapy can be used as a preventative service to ensure you have no flare-ups or injuries.
Strengthen Muscles Physiotherapy, along with other services, can improve your strength, especially after an injury.
What to expect at your Physiotherapy appointment:
A working diagnoses and treatment plan
We will provide you with a comprehensive treatment plan. This will ensure you understand your diagnosis, our advice and the treatment required to successfully recover. We will also give you an approximate timeframe for your recovery.
Professional advice and education
We will teach you about your condition, your prognosis and how you can help yourself. We will provide advice on work practices, sports and hobbies, exercise, supplements and anything that affects your condition and health relating to that condition.
We provide hands on therapy to treat the problems we identify.
We regularly refer clients for X-Rays and scans where medically required.
If your problem is beyond our scope of practice or if you require the skills of another medical practitioner, we will refer you to one of the many trusted doctors and allied health professionals we work with regularly.
Physiotherapists are able to help with most injuries and tightness. You should book an appointment with The Wellness Team when you first start getting symptoms. This will ensure the fastest recovery possible.
Any scans or reports you have of your injury. Your private health card and a method for paying the gap fee. Wear comfortable and loose clothing that allows the Physiotherapist to treat your concerning area. When you arrive, you will fill out a new client form for general information about you and your health.
This depends on your condition and severity. At your first appointment, you will receive an estimate of how many treatments you will need.
If your physiotherapist suspects a serious injury, they might refer you for some imaging. We can refer you directly for X-Rays, but we will request a referral from your GP if Ultrasounds or MRI’s are required.
