A working diagnoses and treatment plan
In order for you to fully understand your condition and to help you to begin the journey of improvement we believe an acurate diagonsis is the cornerstone of your treatment. This understanding allows you to make any necessery changes to your lifestyle and for you to understand why we have given you specific advice, exercises or treatments. From your diagnosis and from us understanding your particular goals, a treatment or treatments will be planned. In this plan we will outline how the treatment or treatments will help you, how you can progress them and maintain your improvements at home. We will give you a timeframe for your chosen outcomes.
Professional advice and education
We will teach you about your condition, your prognosis and how you can help yourself. We will provide advice on work practices, sports and hobbies, exercise, supplements and anything that affects your condition and health relating to that condition.
Hands-On Therapy/Manual Therapy
We provide hands on therapy to treat the problems we identify.
While manual therapy is fantastic to gain relief from pain and help correct any dysfunctions, home exercises are fantastic in helping you maintain these improvements.
While you can improve significantly with manual therapy and home exercises, in order to fully rehabilitate many injuries you may need the addition of strengthening exercises. Physiotherapists are in the unique position or being able to both diagnose injuries, imbalances or conditions and are able to give strengthening exercises to help correct these issues. While the choice of exercise is super improtant for improvements to occur, slight tweaks in your technique can be the difference between you aggravating your condition and improving on your pain and dysfunction. As well as technique, load management is super important in keeping you injury free, too much load and your injury is aggravated, not enough load and there isn’t enough stimulus for improvements to occur.
We regularly refer clients for X-Rays and scans where medically required.
If your problem is beyond our scope of practice or if you require the skills of another medical practitioner, we will refer you to one of the many trusted doctors and allied health professionals we work with regularly.
